Our staff consists of our lead teacher, Jo Smetak, and our assistant teacher,
Jill Reyman. Both teachers are CPR and First Aid certified.
- Mrs. Jo has a masters Degree in English, and holds both a CDA (Child Development
Associate) Credential, and a level 6 Maryland Child Care Credential. She has 26
years of training and experience in early care and education, and has been at
RBCN for 18 years. She is a speaker, writer and trainer for the Howard County
Child Care Resource center, serves on the Howard County Kindergarten Transition
Work Group, and is actively engaged in parent training for RBCN and other local
organizations. She brings a high degree of professionalism to the school and
helps to ensure that our program meets state and national standards for
excellence in the early childhood field.
- Jill Reyman joined the RBCN staff last year after moving to Owings mills from
her home in Kingston, New York. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from
Our Lady of Elms College, and 3 years experience working with special needs
children at the Kingston Children’s annex, a school centered on providing
education for children with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders. She is
skilled in sign language and highly trained in child development. She enjoys
observing children, sharing their ideas, planning for their learning, and
bringing her own ideas to the program. She is a welcome addition to our staff.
